The book 'The charlie and the chocolate factory' is a comedic and fantastic novel by the british author Roald Dahl. The novel is about a boy called charlie, whose family is very poor and they don't have much money and food to survive.
There is a chocolate factory near charlie's house. It is willy wonka's factory. One day willy wonka invites five children to visit the chocolate factory. The factory is amazing ! In the games, among 5 participants, one child can win special price. Is charlie the winner? Childrens do several mischievious activities and they are punished in different ways. Title : Muna Madan

Author: Laxmi Prasad Devkota

Publisher: Sajha Prakashan, Kathmandu, Nepal

Publish Year: 1936

Subject: Narrative Poetry

Genre: Romance

Pages: 41

Language: Nepal

Is it a darkly passionate tale of love? Or should we call it a highly original gothic story? The classic narrative poetry Muna Madan by Mahakabi Laxmi Prasad Devkota is, in my opinion, a unique and gripping blend of these genres. Written in 1936, it is a folk epic novel full of desire, lovepassion, humanity and regret, focusing on the main characters of Muna and Madan.

The book describes the life of a man (Madan) who leaves his wife (Muna) and goes to Lhasa to make money. Madan represents all the youths of Nepal who go abroad to earn money to earn their living.

The wife of Madan, Muna is the queen of love and sacrifice. She loves her Madan a lot so she is upset as she has to send him to a place, Lahsa, where there are lots of obstacles and risks. But finally, she accepts this challenge and stays in the country with her mother-in-law who is old and weak.

While returning home, Madan becomes sick on the way. His friends leave him on the road and come back home saying he has died. Finally, he is rescued by a man who is considered to be of lower caste in Nepal. That is why it is said that a man is said to be great not by caste or race but by a heart full of love and humanity.

When Madan returns to Kathmandu after regaining his health, he discovers that his mother and his beloved wife had already died. Madan comes to realize that money is of no value at that point.

The story also shows the life of a poor woman who suffered much without her husband and later dies because of grief. In this poem, Devkota has written about the biggest problems of the then Nepalese society.

Through the story of Muna and Madan, Laxmi Prasad Devkota wants to stabilize the facts of traditional societies, unscientific beliefs and the negative impacts of unemployment and poverty in Nepalese society. The poet has wonderfully defined love by writing about the relationship of Muna and Madan.

Muna Madan is not what I would call an 'easy read'. There is dense description and some of the dialogue is written in dialect, which can be difficult to follow.

Nevertheless, I carried on and, all in all, I can highly recommend Muna MadanI challenge you to remain unmoved after reading this exceptional book.

Genre:Fiction\ Mythology

Language: English

No. Of Pages: 215

Price: Rs 295/-

Publisher: Om Books International

Format: Paperback

Mythology Fictions have always been one of my favourite genre to read. The book's name is The Ramayana Secret and as the title suggests, it definitely fits perfect into the category.

Starting with the book cover, it looked pretty average to me, nothing too intriguing. I seriously think that something more could have been added to it, to make it look more magical and inviting.

That being said about the first impression of the book cover, the first few pages of the book made me fall in love with the story immediately. Obviously it is a story about Lord Ram and our very own oldest Indian tale Ramayana. But the author has told the story of Ramayana, from all together different angle.
All the characters are definitely picked up from the Ramayana story we have always heard, but the plot build up is very unique and innovative. There are lots of twists and turns in the story. There are many surprises for the readers because since it is Ramayana, we tend to expect somethings as we have always heard. So, that makes the whole reading experience very interesting.

liked the concept of the inner and outer earth. How Ram belonged to a different world and was sent on a secret mission with a cover up identity and a plan. Why Sita was kidnapped by the Lankan King Ravana is also quite interesting. The book covers a whole story about how Ravana overtook Lanka and became its king. Why is he so powerful!! Was Sita a sole purpose of the war between Rama and Ravana.....

The first half of the book is very fast and every page brings something new, while the second half of the book is comparatively slower.
The book depicts the Family Tree of Kosala, Videha and Anga Kingdoms and Family tree of Lankans in the form of flowchart in the beginning of the book.

I would highly recommend this book to all the fiction lovers since the plot is very imaginative and interesting.  I loved reading it and look forward more from the author.
